The almost everyday ups and downs of life can wear us down. Finances, health, relationships, self-esteem, faith-life, to name a few, can change sometimes overnight. Jesus gives us a long term security view as we ride the “roller coaster.” We know how it all ends.
Jesus uses a story to encourage us in our important relationships in general and especially in our relationship of faith. What am I bringing to my relationships, especially with the Lord, that allow them to be fruitful and filled with Joy? What is getting in the way? How do I move through that?
Jesus gives us some powerful words of encouragement when we get bogged down with the circumstances, frustrations, and demands of life. Life getting you down? “Come to me” says Jesus!
We live in a highly anxious world these days. The list is endless of those situations and people where damage is the outcome. Our readings give us encouragement to live securely in the midst of the stress around us.
