Youth Ministry

Welcome to Youth MInistry

Youth Ministry at Our Savior exists to prepare youth for a lifelong faith in Jesus Christ. We want to partner with you in raising your teen to know that they are loved and saved by Jesus Christ.

Family Focused

The foundation of the faith of a young person is the nature of faith shaping practices in the Christian home. As a ministry, we seek to support how the faith is modeled and taught at home. Our youth ministry activities and resources are provided with that in mind.

Biblical Teaching

Youth Ministry curriculum varies between topics and books of the Bible. What does not vary is our emphasis on connecting what is taught at church and what is taught in the home. We use Orange Curriculum in order to build up faith in the home.

This Week in Youth Ministry

This week’s spiritual habit is reading the Bible. God speaks to us through His Word, and the easiest way to hear what He has to say in the Bible is to read it! This week, watch this Bible Experience video with your student. This is a great time to connect as a family AND with God. After you watch the video, come up with a list of ways your family can incorporate reading the Bible and listening to God throughout the week. It doesn’t just have to be sitting down and reading an entire chapter or story. See how you can break it up and find creative ways to listen to God all week long. You can also check out the Parent Guide for more ways to connect with your student this week.

Middle School

Overview

Middle School is a transitional time for students as they grow in their relationship with God and create ownership in their faith.  Friendships, hands-on experiences, and caring support are also pivotal for providing a nurturing ministry that helps young people find their place in the Church and in life. At Our Savior, we surround our middle school students with grace, love, and room to just be middle schoolers. We also want to support your entire family as you navigate this formative stage in the life of your child.

Weekly Bible Experiences

Each week there are new videos and materials posted for students to learn about who God is and explore how He is a part of their daily lives. See the This Week section above to access these materials.

Youth Group

Each Sunday our middle school and high school youth meet after church to spend time growing in their relationship with God and with each other. For more information on Youth Group, contact Sara Agee.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a chance for students to dig deeper in their faith and wrestle with forming their own understanding of what it means for them personally to be a Christian. Our Confirmation ministry involves extra levels of commitment as we guide students through materials and experiences that will result in a student exploring "What do I personally believe?" Most of the Confirmation program can be done at home, on a student's own time. The students also meet in person to discuss what they have been learning and further explore their own faith. For more information on Confirmation, contact Sara Agee.

High School

Overview

High School students need a place to call their own.  They also need a faith to call their own.  At Our Savior, we invest in our High School students by walking beside them as they navigate school, family, and their personal identity.  We enjoy helping them to wrestle with tough questions about their faith and the world around them as they apply God's Word to their daily lives. Our goal for our High School Ministry is to prepare students to be leaders in their faith and disciples to those around them as they live out a life-long relationship with Jesus Christ. We also want to support you as parents in their journey, as you will be the ones to walk with them even after they leave high school.
