Children's Ministry

Children's Ministry for Preschool through 5th grade.

Welcome to children's ministry

Children’s Ministry at Our Savior exists to prepare children for a lifelong faith in Jesus Christ. We want to partner with you in raising your child to know that they are loved and saved by Jesus Christ.

Family Focused

The foundation of the faith of a child is the nature of faith shaping practices in the Christian home. As a ministry, we seek to support how the faith is modeled and taught at home. Our children's ministry activities and resources are provided with that in mind.

Biblical Teaching

Children's Ministry curriculum varies between topics and books of the Bible. What does not vary is our emphasis on connecting what is taught at church and what is taught in the home. We use Orange Curriculum in order to build up faith in the home.

Age Groups

Preschool

Preschool-aged children look at the world through eyes of wonder as they seek to discover everything in reach. Our Savior's Preschool Ministry celebrates children as they explore the world around them and helps them to rest in the comfort of knowing they are loved by their family, their church community, and their Heavenly Father. We also want to make sure you have what you need as parents to walk this journey with them. Each week your family can watch the Preschool Bible Experience video and use the additional resources to learn more about God’s amazing love.

Early Elementary (K-3rd)

Elementary children are at a time where they are constantly learning as much as they can and exploring how they personally fit into this great big world. At Our Savior, we enjoy helping kids discover God's amazing story and how their individual story connects with His. We also want to walk by your side as you continue to raise your child to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Spend time this week watching the Early Elementary Bible Experience as a family.

Late Elementary (4th-5th)

Our goal for children and youth at Our Savior is to help young people and their families develop and grow in their lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. When a child is in fourth and fifth grade, they begin discovering what faith means to them. We want to walk alongside you and your child as they ask the tough questions and apply God’s Word to their daily lives. Check out this week’s Preteen Bible Experience.

We are starting a new opportunity for children and their parents to grow in their relationship with God, with each other, and with other families in the ministry. Twice a month we will be getting together for a Family Bible Experience. This will take place on the first and last Sunday of each month. On the first Sunday of the month, children of all ages and their parents are invited to join us in the youth room from 4:45 to 5:45 pm. We will enjoy a Bible lesson and do an activity related to that day’s Bible story. We will also have dinner so that families attending the Family Worship Service at 6:00 pm don’t have to worship on an empty stomach.

On the last Sunday of the month, children and families will meet again, but this time we will get together after the 9:00 am worship service. We will meet in the youth room from 10:30 to 11:30 pm for a Bible lesson and activities. We hope your family can join us for these faith growth opportunities and that you can attend one or both each month, even if it’s not around the time of the worship service you regularly attend. If you have any questions about our Family Bible Experience, please contact Sara Agee

This Week in Children's Ministry

God loves us and is always with us. In this week's lesson, we will learn about Rahab and the spies of Israel. God was with them and took care of them. We invite you to find a time this week to watch this Bible Experience video with your child. It includes a music video, a Bible story, and this month's memory verse. Afterward, use paper to cut out hearts and put them up around the house to remind you that God loves you. For more fun ideas, check out this week's Parent Guide, as well as our monthly music video below.

Sometimes we face challenges, but we never face them alone. This week, check out this Bible Experience video as we learn how Nehemiah served God even when other people tried to stop him. Then, write a prayer as a family, asking God to help you to do the right thing even when you face challenges. You can also use this Parent Guide to continue the conversation. And check out the extra resources below.
