Children's Ministry for Preschool through 5th grade.

Welcome to children's ministry

Children’s Ministry at Our Savior exists to prepare children for a lifelong faith in Jesus Christ. We want to partner with you in raising your child to know that they are loved and saved by Jesus Christ.

Family Focused

The foundation of the faith of a child is the nature of faith shaping practices in the Christian home. As a ministry, we seek to support how the faith is modeled and taught at home. Our children's ministry activities and resources are provided with that in mind.

Biblical Teaching

Children's Ministry curriculum varies between topics and books of the Bible. What does not vary is our emphasis on connecting what is taught at church and what is taught in the home. We use Orange Curriculum in order to build up faith in the home.

This Week in Children's Ministry

This week we are learning about the story of Joshua and the city of Jericho. God gave Joshua some pretty silly instructions, but Joshua trusted God and God came through. Plan a time to watch this Bible Experience video with your child. It includes a music video, a Bible story, and this month's memory verse. After you watch the video, help your child come up with a list of ways they can make a joyful noise to praise God. Some ideas might include singing, making shakers out of water bottles and beads, and drumming on tuber ware. And for more fun ideas, check out this week's Parent Guide.

This week we are learning about the story of Joshua and the city of Jericho. God’s plan for Joshua and the Israelites seemed pretty impossible. But with God, all things are possible. Choose a time to watch this Bible Experience video with your child. It includes a music video, Bible story, and more. Then check out this week’s Parent Guide sheet for a cool craft to do with your child and more discussion topics.

This week we are learning about the story of Joshua and the city of Jericho. Joshua and the people of Israel needed a plan and God provided. Choose a time to watch this Bible Experience video with your child. It includes a music video, Bible story, and more. After you watch the video, work with your child to make a plan for some fun summer activities. Be sure to talk about how sometimes we may make a plan, but God might have a different plan and things could change. But we can celebrate that God’s plan is always the best plan. And for more fun ideas, check out this week's Parent Guide.

Age Groups

Preschool

Preschool-aged children look at the world through eyes of wonder as they seek to discover everything in reach. Our Savior's Preschool Ministry celebrates children as they explore the world around them and helps them to rest in the comfort of knowing they are loved by their family, their church community, and their Heavenly Father. We also want to make sure you have what you need as parents to walk this journey with them. Each week your family can watch the Preschool Bible Experience video and use the additional resources to learn more about God’s amazing love.

Early Elementary (K-3rd)

Elementary children are at a time where they are constantly learning as much as they can and exploring how they personally fit into this great big world. At Our Savior, we enjoy helping kids discover God's amazing story and how their individual story connects with His. We also want to walk by your side as you continue to raise your child to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Spend time this week watching the Early Elementary Bible Experience as a family.

Late Elementary (4th-5th)

Our goal for children and youth at Our Savior is to help young people and their families develop and grow in their lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. When a child is in fourth and fifth grade, they begin discovering what faith means to them. We want to walk alongside you and your child as they ask the tough questions and apply God’s Word to their daily lives. Check out this week’s Preteen Bible Experience.
