Children's Ministry

Children's Ministry for Preschool through 5th grade.

Welcome to children's ministry

Children’s Ministry at Our Savior exists to prepare children for a lifelong faith in Jesus Christ. We want to partner with you in raising your child to know that they are loved and saved by Jesus Christ.

Family Focused

The foundation of the faith of a child is the nature of faith shaping practices in the Christian home. As a ministry, we seek to support how the faith is modeled and taught at home. Our children's ministry activities and resources are provided with that in mind.

Biblical Teaching

Children's Ministry curriculum varies between topics and books of the Bible. What does not vary is our emphasis on connecting what is taught at church and what is taught in the home. We use Orange Curriculum in order to build up faith in the home.

This Week in Children's Ministry

This week we are learning about the story of Jonah. God had a plan for Jonah, but Jonah didn’t want to follow God’s plan. Even when we don’t “jump, jump” and go God’s way, God still uses His perfect plan to care for us and others. This week, plan time to watch this Bible Experience video with your child. It includes a music video, a Bible story, and this month's memory verse. Afterward, make a plan to practice this month’s memory verse every night at bedtime. Being in God’s Word and memorizing Bible verses helps God’s way become our way. And for more fun ideas, check out this week's Parent Guide.

Parent Guide

This week we’re learning how to listen to all that God has to say. One of the easiest ways to listen to God is by reading the Bible. Take time this week to watch this Bible Experience video with your child. Then have each member of the family share what their favorite Bible story is. Over the next week, read each of your favorite stories together, and then make a list of things God is teaching us in those stories. You can also use this Parent Guide to continue the conversation.

Age Groups

Preschool

Preschool-aged children look at the world through eyes of wonder as they seek to discover everything in reach. Our Savior's Preschool Ministry celebrates children as they explore the world around them and helps them to rest in the comfort of knowing they are loved by their family, their church community, and their Heavenly Father. We also want to make sure you have what you need as parents to walk this journey with them. Each week your family can watch the Preschool Bible Experience video and use the additional resources to learn more about God’s amazing love.

Early Elementary (K-3rd)

Elementary children are at a time where they are constantly learning as much as they can and exploring how they personally fit into this great big world. At Our Savior, we enjoy helping kids discover God's amazing story and how their individual story connects with His. We also want to walk by your side as you continue to raise your child to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Spend time this week watching the Early Elementary Bible Experience as a family.

Late Elementary (4th-5th)

Our goal for children and youth at Our Savior is to help young people and their families develop and grow in their lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. When a child is in fourth and fifth grade, they begin discovering what faith means to them. We want to walk alongside you and your child as they ask the tough questions and apply God’s Word to their daily lives. Check out this week’s Preteen Bible Experience.
