When the Spirit moves in us, we are compelled to work to make the church even stronger and built up. It takes maturity in how we see others and deal with one another. Taking a place of humility and compassion allows us to do incredible work together. Love is not arrogant or rude, it builds up and encourages. This is how we should also be with one another.

The Fullness of God

After teaching us to embrace our different gifts and skills, Paul now shows us what Love from above looks like, and how it should have its way among us. In a popular wedding text, Paul is describing the love that God has for us, which we can only hope rubs off into how we treat each other in the church.

The church is made up of diverse people from various backgrounds, who have varying skills, and who have different passions in fulfilling the mission of God. Over the next few weeks, we will spend time looking at Paul's encouragement to work together to embrace the uniqueness of the diverse and focus on the mission together. We thank God that here at Our Savior, we can reach so many people in our community as a result of our many parts!

Faithfulness

Gifted? Gifted!!

Our readings this Sunday reflect "Gifts" in several different ways. Israel and her people are seen as "A crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord." Paul gives us a reality of gifts in the body of Christ "for the common good." Then the Gospel shares a very practical gift by Jesus to a wedding celebration under stress. Have you considered your gifts recently? What has the Spirit of God given you to use for the "common good?"
