It doesn’t matter who you are, where you came from, or what is going on in your life, the fact that God has called you His own is a gift of grace! We don’t deserve His love and we cannot earn it. Today we revel in the grace and love of the Father because of what Jesus has done for us!
It seems that the accumulation of wealth is not just an issue in our time. Jesus reflects on the burden that wealth can become as it can separate us from the Kingdom of God. We may be blessed with some financial resources. How important are they to us? How can they become burdens? What other blessings do we have that can turn into burdens? How do we "unburden" ourselves and allow blessings to remain blessings?
Evangelism (sharing the good news of Jesus) is a daunting task for many of us. If we knew that people would be accepting of our message, we'd probably be more comfortable with it. Experience has shown many of us that not everyone is warm to the idea of following Jesus. Jesus has a similar experience. The world offers a lot of options on how to live. We will look at why people would not want to follow Jesus, and why they should.

As the church, we are called to be there for one another. Too often we are self-centered and disregard those we have no use for, even those whom we love deeply. Jesus talks about the hard issue of divorce but uses love for children as a reminder that we are called to be selfless in putting others first. Join us on Sunday and hear more!
Why does God place us in a community? Our faith is never just something between He and us, it is done in community. James closes his letters on how Christians can serve one another and the world by doing life and faith together, a wonderful reminder and encouragement for us here at OSLM.
