Lent-Easter

Worship Services

Ash Wednesday

The season of Lent begins as we contemplate our mortal standing before our holy God. In imposition of ashes reminds us of our standing before God and marks the beginning of this contemplative season of the church year. Join us at 6:30 pm for worship.

Lent Services

Join us each Wednesday evening in Lent (March 12 to April 9) at 6:30 pm for worship. Throughout the holy season of Lent, we are drawn to Calvary to live in forgiveness, hope, love, peace, trust, and perseverance. Each week, the services in this series reveal how Christ and his cross serve as examples for us of how to live our lives for and through our crucified Lord and Savior.

Maundy Thursday

On Maundy Thursday we remember how Jesus gathered in an upper room to celebrate a final Passover meal with His disciples. This marks the institution of the Lord's Supper, a practice we celebrate weekly at our 9:00 am Sunday service and monthly at our 11:15 am Sunday service. We join together in worship on April 17 at 7:00 pm.

Good Friday

On Good Friday we commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus on a hill outside of Jerusalem. This sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf is what provides for us the forgiveness of sins and a restored relationship with God. We join together in worship on April 18 at 7:00 pm.

Sunday morning Lent Bible Study - 10:30 am

The Passion of Christ in the Old Testament

What should the Scribes and Pharisees have known about Jesus? He told them in John 5:39 -- "You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me."

Then to his disciples in Luke 24:44 “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

We will be examining the evidence that they ignored, to see how the Old Testament was a foreshadow of Jesus and the Gospel.

Easter Sunday we will have an egg hunt at 12:00 PM, immediately following the 11:15 AM Worship Service. Bring your own basket or use one of the provided bags.
