Youth Ministry

Middle School Ministry

Middle School is a transitional time for students as they grow in their relationship with God and create ownership in their faith.  Friendships, hands-on experiences, and caring support are also pivotal for providing a nurturing program that helps young people find their place in the Church and in life. At Our Savior we surround our middle school students with grace, love, and room to just be middle schoolers. We also want to support your entire family as you navigate this formative stage in the life of your child. At the bottom of the page are parent resources you can use to continue nurturing your child in their faith.

Here is information on some of what we offer to our Middle School students.

Opportunities for Middle Schoolers to Connect

Weekly Bible Experiences

Each week there are new videos and materials posted for students to learn about who God is and explore how He is a part of their daily lives. Click here to access these materials.

Middle School Youth Group

Youth Group is a time for students to have fun and build the meaningful relationships that will keep them engaged in their relationship with God. It is also a chance for students to learn and grow side-by-side with their peers. Because of limitations due to social distancing, youth group currently takes place on Zoom on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 2pm. For more information on Zoom Youth Group, contact Sara Agee, our Children's and Youth Minister, at sagee@oslm.net.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a chance for students to dig deeper in their faith and wrestle with forming their own understanding of what it means for them personally to be a Christian. Our Confirmation ministry involves extra levels of commitment as we guide students through materials and experiences that will result in a student exploring "What do I personally believe?" Most of our Confirmation program can be done at home, on a student's own time. Because of current social distancing needs, our in-person interactions take place over Zoom on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 1pm. We look forward to the day of getting to back together in person and go on our next off-site retreat. If you have any questions about Confirmation, please contact Sara Agee at sagee@oslm.net.

High School Ministry

High School students need a place to call their own.  They also need a faith to call their own.  At Our Savior we invest in our High School students by walking beside them as they navigate school, family, and their personal identity.  We enjoy helping them to wrestle with tough questions about their faith and the world around them as they apply God's Word to their daily lives. Our goal for our High School Ministry is to prepare students to be leaders in their faith and disciples to those around them as they live out a life-long relationship with Jesus Christ. We also want to support you as parents in their journey, as you will be the ones to walk with them even after they leave high school. At the bottom of the page are resources you can use to continue nurturing your child's faith.

Weekly Connections

Right now, everyone is craving more connections and support from the people in their lives. Even though we can't meet in person, we want to make sure that our students are still getting their tanks filled both relationally and spiritually. Each Wednesday our High School students have the opportunity to connect on Wednesday afternoons for a mid-week boost. The 2nd Wednesday of the month we meet for our "Let's Talk ..." series as we discuss how we as high schoolers think through and handle tough situations our world is facing. The other Wednesdays of the month we meet for a quick 15 minute "ReFuel" devotion in order to fill-up on God's grace and peace that we need to get us through the rest of the week. To find our more on each of these and connect with us on Zoom at 3:30 on Wednesdays, check on the High School Youth Events listed below. And for more information, contact Sara Agee at sagee@oslm.net.

Parent Resources

Even as your teenager seeks to find their own independence and build relationships with their peers, parents still continue to have the greatest impact on middle School and high School students. We also know that one day your child will leave our ministry, but you as parents will continue to walk with them. For this reason, at Our Savior we know that to have the biggest impact on the faith of a student, we must encourage and support their parents.  We are honored to partner with you in this journey.

Look here for regularly updated resources to help you as parents raise your middle school and high school students to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
