"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the
fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." ACTS
God helps us to grow in our faith in many ways, sometimes even using our relationships with others to strengthen our relationship with Him and to grow in personal discipleship.
Adult Fellowship Luncheon
Join us at noon on the third Wednesday of every month in the Fireside Room to fellowship with members and friends of Our Savior Lutheran Ministries. Bring a brown-bag lunch; dessert and drinks are provided. It is a time for devotions, fellowship, birthday celebrations, information-sharing and games. Everyone is welcome. For more information, contact Joe or Rita Ryno at 925.449.5135.
Stitches from the Heart
Stitches from the Heart is a charitable knitting, crocheting, and quilting organization that sends handmade clothing, blankets, and love to premature babies all across the nation. Our Savior has contributed handmade items to this organization for nearly ten years, and we're pleased our Lord has used these contributions to bless others, as in this case:
"I am writing to thank you for the lovely hat and blanket you knitted. My son, Thomas was hospitalized in our neonatal ICU here in Frederick, MD after he was born. Your donated blanket and hat were given to him for his trip home. Thank you so much for brightening a tough time for us! Thomas is at home now and is doing wonderfully. Sincerely, Brooke & Dave."
We always welcome new
participants who would like to join in this ministry. Contact Rita Ryno at (925) 449-5135 if you have something to donate or if you would like more
Throughout the year, a group of folks get together to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. No experience is necessary -- just a willing heart and hands to learn! Contact Susan Contreras for more information or to learn about upcoming quilting sessions.
The Diners' Club of Our Savior is a monthly gathering in the homes of members and friends over a meal with the express purpose of getting to know one another better. Every fall things get going with a sign-up time and a special kick-off dinner. It all happens on a monthly basis and goes like this:
- Sign up for the program with Charlie or Jo Ann Swift.
- Hosts and guests will be assigned for each month.
- The host selects a date and calls all of the guests (usually no more than 6 people) to confirm the date.
- The host plans the entree and the guests bring salad and dessert.
- Everyone gathers to enjoy great food and fellowship!
- Each month previous guests become hosts and vice versa.
New additions are welcome all year long! To sign up or to ask
questions contact Jo Ann or Charlie Swift, or the church office.
Other fun fellowship happenings...
Throughout the year several events are held to bring members and community friends together in fun and fellowship; things like the annual Oktoberfest, Golf Tournament, concerts, all-church potlucks, the men's "Meat Bowl" on NFL Championship Sunday, and the women's Advent by Candlelight event which kicks off the Christmas season each year.
These are wonderful opportunities to connect and grow in the faith community with Our Savior.
